I like where I live now with my husband. I feel it is a place where I can go no matter what my mood and relax. I can sit on the patio and look at the blue sky and enjoy my husbands love for the yard. I watch my dog play in the grass and roll over scratching her back. It is a place where I am at peace.
I also love a campfire and the outdoors. I find myself at peace in the outdoors; woods, on a trail, or at a lake. The beauty of nature makes my life seem small in comparison and my problems even smaller. If I could I would live in the woods like Thoreau and write. I often forget to smell the roses and enjoy the small things in life. Today, my coffee taste fantastic, my dog is rolling on the carpet scratching her back and I am content. Oh, what a beautiful morning!

Jeri, I also hope that I will be able to allow my students the freedom to "work out" those big ideas on their own, especially if they only need a few more minutes of thinking. It's going to be really tough, though, when you are one adult in charge of 23 kids and you have to get them to P.E., lunch, recess, and library all on time! I think that will be one of the biggest challenges (out of the hundreds ha) that we'll face - knowing when we can ease off and let those few kids keep going on their math while the rest of the class gathers for story time, because inevitably, there will be times when everyone will have to line up no matter where they are at in their tasks.
ReplyDeleteIt's so different from the schooling I am used to as well!
