Assignment 7/14

Hi all,

I am very sorry it has taken me so long to post. Consolidation is the name of the game this week as we prepare to move into social/cultural influences on learning. At this point in this class the important thing becomes not so much articulating the components of each theorist, but rather articulating what each theory means to you.

For this blog please create a visual model that includes child development theory as well as the major theorists we have covered thus far. For example, perhaps the content of this course is feeling like hmm... an umbrella to take along for those rainy days when a lesson fails or those windy days when the system seeks to bend you to its will. Which theories are creating the handle for you that you can concretely touch and manipulate? Which create the spokes on which the top of the umbrella rests? Which determine the color or size or... you see what I mean. Pick your own metaphor. Creativity is welcomed. Please give us a detailed enough description to "see" your visual and understand where and why you are placing each theory. Review and think about how theory is relating to you and to the composition of your personal pedagogy as a whole. What are you resting on? What are you questioning?
