Museum Experience- Baby room

I noticed a child around the age of 14 months in the “baby room” that was partitioned off of the busiest museum area. She was very interested in the fountain that looked sort of like a mountain or volcano. It was like a water table at the bottom but with less water; there was a sort of river streaming down to the bottom. There were paintbrushes provided and the child was thoroughly enjoying soaking up water with the paintbrush and using it to splash water around. She was also drinking water from the paintbrush at times (and then was redirected by her mother). She also enjoyed putting the paintbrush down and splashing with her hands. The child was enjoying the sensory experience of the wet water on her hands and face as well as tasting the water. The baby room was relaxing; it was quiet and painted in more subdued tones. This child was really able to concentrate on the sensory experience of the water without a lot of distractions.
